“A+” Acupuncture

Acupuncture is proven for pain & so much more

The practice of acupuncture is thousands of years old and that means it’s got a lot to offer! Providers at Chiyu are experts in both traditional methods and the latest, scientific published research and protocols. Our A+ systems analytics approach means quicker resolution of tough problems.

ATP Biotherapy

Mitochondrial therapy for pain & inflammation

Body cells communicate via neurochemical and electrical signaling. ATP Biotherapy, one of our most cutting-edge therapies, targets mitochondria via specific tissue frequencies. Our patients with TBI, fibroid pain, and neuropathy benefit from this therapy by experiencing faster pain relief.

Herbal Medicine

Chinese herbal medicine via phone & in-person

Herbal medicine is having a moment right now — and that’s because it works. But it’s also complicated. And that’s why health coaches and hobbyists can’t prescribe it. For the best, safest, and quickest results, you want a custom Chinese herbal medicine formula designed by a doctor in the field.

Acupuncture-Associated Therapies

  • Hands holding three heart-shaped stones in various shades of green, pink, and white with green veining, on a light textured surface.

    Manual Therapy

Cupping, guasha (Graston technique), tuina, shiatsu massage, and other similar therapies restore circulation through the manual stretch, pull, and pressure against tissue fiber. Manual therapies are incorporated into appointments as needed.

  • Person administering acupuncture with thin needles on a person's back.

    Dry Needling

Also known as trigger point acupuncture, dry needling provides instant release and relief of locked-up and overly-tight knotted muscles. Dry needling doesn’t need to be super painful! Trust our years of needling education and expertise.

  • Person using a black handheld laser device on a person's arm, with a visible red laser light.

    Red Light Laser

Don’t like needles? That’s okay! Red light laser can be used to stimulate acupuncture points for concerns including (but not limited to) nausea, stress, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. It works just as well as acupuncture needles, but without any pain.

  • A healthcare worker wearing gloves preparing a syringe for injection.

    Injection Therapy

Injection therapy is the injection of a small amount of sterile fluid (saline, dextrose, vitamins, and/or homeopathics) into painful and distressed tissue for instant relief of symptoms. Dr. Marie has special certifications in these techniques.

  • Medical infrared device with a handpiece mounted on a metal stand and a small cone-shaped attachment nearby.

    Moxibustion

Moxibustion promotes healing via a unique frequency of infrared light and heat. Unlike many other clinics, we use a specialized electric device to harness the benefits of traditional moxibustion without any noxious or irritating smoke.

  • A baby lying on their back receiving a Japanese shonishin treatment

    Shonishin

An extraordinarily gentle acupressure treatment for infants and young children, shonishin calms the nervous system, improves digestion, improves sleep, strengthens developing organs, restores balance to developing or injured limbs, and more.

  • electric stimulation of an acupuncture needle

    E-Stim

The use of gentle, electric stimulation is an absolute game changer for acupuncture, making each treatment more effective. Conditions with a neurological and vascular basis, such as stroke, bell’s palsy, and neuropathy, resolve quicker with e-stim.

  • A tuning fork used in alternative medicine treatments.

    Acutonics

Soundwaves move powerfully through our bodies. Research suggests that vibrations at specific resonances through the facial network can release tightly held tissue and trauma, promoting clarity, serenity, and a sense of grounding and peace with one’s life.

Natural & Functional Therapies

  • A multi-generational family hiking on a wooden bridge in a green forest with a stream, adults and children smiling and enjoying nature.

    Dietary Therapy

Popeye the Sailor wasn’t wrong. But, spinach isn’t all we need. Nutrition is the foundation of a healthy, energized, and strong body and mind. Yet, we can only use nutrition to our advantage if our bodies absorb and don’t react poorly to what we’re eating. Dr. Marie is a thought leader in this field. Her systems approach to analyzing complex illness resulted in her recommending sugar-free detox diets to autoimmune patients before keto even had a name! Get individualized dietary advice rooted in reality while still savoring the joy of food.

  • An elderly man and a young boy riding a bumper car at an amusement park. The man is wearing a straw hat, sunglasses, and a checkered shirt, while the boy is wearing a striped shirt. They appear to be enjoying the ride.

    Potent Supplements

In your body, every amino acid, cofactor, vitamin, and mineral acts in an important capacity. When one or more is deficient, effects range from nerve misfiring to mood disorders. Sure, you can take 15 different supplements in a shotgun approach. But it’s much smarter (and cost effective) to be precise. Dr. Marie’s unique recommendations come from years of study and successfully helping those with very complex disease processes thrive. She also offers specific, high-reliability testing to discover exactly which vitamins, amino acids, and minerals YOU need.

  • A woman with short hair and closed eyes, standing outdoors with her hand on her chest, during sunset.

    Qigong and Breath

Some say disease comes from a betrayed heart. Some say it starts with the gut. Others say it starts in the mind.

If we were approaching the mind, body, and heart as an integrated system, what would connect all three? The breath.

Dr. Marie spent years studying Taiji, Qigong, and breathwork from honored lineage holders and true masters. If you’re new to it, try Dr. Marie’s instruction. You’ll be pleasantly surprised that a few simple exercises and a new approach to breathing can radically shift your health.

Unmatched & Uniquely Powerful

Chiyu Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki

Thirty years ago, Reiki was unheard of. These days, Reiki and Healing Touch (a form of reiki) are encouraged by physicians and performed by nurses in the best hospitals in the world.

Dr. Marie began her reiki journey in 2003 with Santa Marie (Antonia). She became a Reiki Master and Teacher in Traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki in 2008. When her teacher unexpectedly passed in 2011, Dr. Marie became the tradition’s lineage holder.

All paths to becoming a military officer can be great, but there is only one United States Military Academy at West Point. In the same way, there are many paths to reiki, but there is only one training that is Traditional Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki. Dr. Marie has always been drawn to paths that provide great depth of experience. She chose her reiki lineage like she chose the Academy. She is glad to be of a profound and powerful lineage.

When people can’t fathom how Dr. Marie knows what she knows and does what she does, she reminds them of her many years of study and clinical experience. When people insist that what she does is supernatural, she’ll say it is a gift, a result of her choice to be allied with God in Chiyu Usui Shiki Ryoho Reiki.
