You look fine — but your brain doesn’t feel fine.

There are options you haven’t been told about.

If you're still being hijacked by brain fog, headaches, fatigue, and mood and sensory changes, even decades after your TBI or concussion … you’re not alone.

You might have been told “it takes time.”

But you don’t have to tough it out indefinitely.

Because you’re not out of options.

Years after a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

You may still experience:

  • Brain fog or sluggish thinking

  • Difficulty falling asleep and frequent waking

  • Irritability, anxiety, black moods, or mood swings

  • Fatigue that doesn’t match your activity level

  • Feelings of disconnection or disorientation

You may have been told these symptoms are “normal.”

But that doesn’t mean they should be permanent.

And you don’t need to resign yourself to forever medications with unwanted side-effects.

There are other options.

Current Approaches to TBI

If you’re in the post-acute phase of TBI, you’ve likely been prescribed:

  • Anti-anxiety medication to lessen feelings of nervousness and fear

  • Anticoagulants to prevent blood clots and improve blood flow

  • Anticonvulsants to prevent seizures

  • Antidepressants to treat symptoms of depression and mood instability, also called mood swings

  • Diuretics to help remove fluid that can increase pressure inside the brain1

  • Muscle relaxants to reduce muscle spasms and to relax constricted muscles

  • Stimulants to increase alertness and attention5

But if you’re like most veterans, medications that cloud your awareness aren’t your favorite.

You’re used to being strong.

You want your energy and resilience back.

As a veteran herself, Dr. Marie gets it.

How We’re Different

We take a unique, systems-based approach to brain health recovery using Chinese herbal medicine and other non-invasive, integrative pain therapies.

While others treat one-off symptoms using multiple pills (each with their own side effects and complications), we look at the brain as part of an interconnected, complex system that depends on:

  • oxygenation and nourishment of brain tissues

  • positive neural conductivity

  • detoxification of inflammation

  • healthy hormone and neurochemical cycles

We then design a Chinese herbal formula (modeled after ones recently proven to be effective in TBI symptom relief) and customize it to your current and resolving health.

Most persons will also be advised to complete a series of at-home, self-administered, non-invasive pain treatments using an ATP biotherapy machine or other integrative therapy shipped directly to you.

Quick re-evaluations are incorporated strategically to modify your herbal formula and ensure progress.

The goals:

  • Restoration of blood circulation and oxygenation of tissues

  • Elimination of headaches and pressure pain

  • Reduction of inflammation and reactivity

  • Rehabilitation of nerve health and nerve conductivity

  • Calming of stress response and hormonal spiking

  • Restoration of healthy sleep and mood cycles

  • Bolstering of underlying health (i.e., digestion, hormones, and neurotransmitters)

TBI and Concussion Integrative Health Consultation

Can Chinese herbal medicine help you recovery from TBI? The science says yes.

In this 1:1 consultation, you will:

  • Review your TBI symptoms and treatment history

  • Show Dr. Marie your tongue so she can map your presentation to known patterns

  • Learn whether your pattern fits known herbal and integrative approaches

  • Receive a customized Chinese herbal medicine and non-invasive integrative therapy plan

  • Get a realistic recovery timeline and cost for your unique situation

Most herbal and integrative plans for TBI are designed:

  • To give immediate relief from the worst (>50%) of your symptoms within 30-60 days

  • To transition into stabilization (3–6 months typical) so you aren’t on herbs or other therapy forever

We get that.

TBI & CONCUSSION

  • "I had a TBI in Iraq. The memory issues and fatigue were really getting to me. I was skeptical that this could work, but it did! The herbs even helped my digestion, which I didn't think was related."

    — Taylor R.

  • "I've been on a bunch of different meds for headaches from my TBI. None helped. The pain made me non-functional. I still can't believe that a couple bottles of powdered herbs could do what drugs couldn't, but I'm glad they did!”

    — Josh B.

  • "I like that Dr. Marie is a veteran, too. It's not all that's important in a provider, but I know I can trust her."

    — Heidi W.

  • "The worst part of the treatment is having to show your tongue, which is kind of weird. But the herbs don't taste that bad, and I feel better than I've felt since the IED."

    — Matt C.

  • "I love that the therapies are natural and non-invasive. Some of my other pain issues (back, neck) have also resolved. I recommend Dr. Marie to every veteran I meet. She knows what she's doing."

    - Andi D.

  • "I almost didn't click the link because I'm not a veteran - I got a concussion from football. But the staff made me feel I was in the right place. I'm glad I gave it a try because I'm back to 100%."

    - Nick G.

  • "I'm getting to the age where I can't tell if my symptoms are due to the TBI or perimenopause. But the herbs worked either way! My "dark moods" and fatigue are 90% better, and I have another month to go. I feel better than I have in a long, long time. Dr. Marie is amazing."

    - Julie S.
